'Brussel Lovers' deal op Infodag?

Voor de volgende Infodag bedacht Marcom wel een erg unieke campagne: je kan een heus VIP-arrangement winnen! Je wordt persoonlijk ontvangen op de campus en krijgt de hele VIP tour op ons evenement. Je wordt zelfs naar een hotel geëscorteerd voor een echte city trip en op typisch Brusselse plaatsen losgelaten. Enjoy!

The next generation VUB Newsletters


After successfully launching VUB Today with 3500 visits per week on average, our newsletter communication is being upgraded accordingly.

The general newsletter was the first one to change. Now the student newsletter also has a completely new format. More to come!

Bloedserieus, edition april 2016

Yet another Bloedserieus - blood donation - event was organised on campus in cooperation with the Flemish Red Cross by Marcom. Full capacity for the event was actually reached.

VUB service desk for Marcom

To enhance Marcom's services towards the VUB community, our department launched the OTRS ticketing system for all Marcom teams. First achievement? About 200 requests for the webmaster were reduced to just 25 tickets in a contest by the website team. Well done!

Wiskunnend Wiske 2015 - 2016

Marcom participated in this year's edition of the Wiskunnend Wiske math contest again. Our Event & Experience colleagues were in charge of communication, event  follow-up and even presentation during the event's closing ceremony.

Applause for the Recruitment Crew

As usual, Marcom's recruitment & event colleagues organised the Info day / Infodag on campus on 19 March 2016.

Another 627 potential students were serviced in choosing their future study programme!

Vub : who are you?

As VUB is reflecting on its identity and position in society today, we conducted a large on-line survey among the broader VUB community (quantitative research).  More than 3.300 people actually participated. At  the moment, also interviews and panel discussions are being organised to provide more qualitative data in our exercise.

Results and points of interest will be revealed at the first VUB Congress in 2016. The campaign for this event is fully up & running on our campuses. The first branding and graphical exercises have also been made and presented for feedback to the broader VUB community.

VUB : social media policy

The Board has approved Marcom's social media policy and guidelines for VUB. Previously the documents also passed VUB's ethical commission. At this point: we actually have university wide guidelines on social media available!

Rectorial election 2016

The Marcom department participated in organising the Rector election 2016, won by Dr. Caroline Pauwels.  We handled all communication, press and event operations with VUB colleagues involved.

Welcoming student refugees!

Salman's and Koen's refugee programme is becoming a large scale success. Among the applicants they already registered more than 100 viable candidates. About 70 of them are now awaiting a letter of admission from VUB. Additional achievement: after several talks with the United Nations, UN is now launching a large call for projects to help refugees. VUB is checking on how to participate.
